Our Team

A former founding trustee, Robyn is ACES's first employee. The Mikoko Pamoja, Vanga Blue Forest teams are employed directly through the communities at the heart of the projects. The Nnaa Samaa Mankolou Team are employed thanks to project development funding.

Robyn Morland

ACES Director
Robyn leads on ACES' development, project management, and client and donor relations. She has worked with ACES and our partners for over 10 years, previously acting as one of the founding board members.

Amber Baker

ACES Project Officer
Amber is responsible for supporting the delivery of a Kenyan seagrass project and a Gambian community-led mangrove restoration project

Amelia Allerton

ACES Project Officer
Amelia is responsible for the collaborative development of the seagrass biodiversity project and acts as the project's technical coordinator.

Kassim Juma

Mikoko Pamoja Project Coordinator
Kassim was born in Gazi and studied coastal and marine resource management, before returning to work for the Mikoko Pamoja project.

Ramadhan Salim Said

Mikoko Pamoja Assistant Project Coordinator
Ramadhan has experience in community development and social work. He is developing further knowledge on this subject by taking part-time courses while working at Mikoko Pamoja.

A dedicated early career professional specializing in maritime
management, Meali is passionate about sustainable development and transformational leadership, and in empowering youth and women in the blue economy.

Hamadi recently managed VBF as Acting Project Coordinator and continues to support the project activities on the ground and supports the community, volunteers and project implementation.

Amy Mumo

Vanga Seagrass Project Officer
Dedicated seagrass conservationist, Amy, is the local lead for the development of a seagrass project focused on biodiversity gains in Vanga Bay.

Kenya certification and technical lead

An experienced ecologist with extensive knowledge of blue carbon ecosystems, Dr Lang'at is supporting the Kenyan projects by offering technical support, part time basis.

Ansumana Darboe

Nnaa Samaa Mankolou Project Manager
Ansumana founded the Sankandi Youth Development Association and is responsible for the successful delivery of activities required for the development of an accredited mangrove carbon project in The Gambia.

Omar Jobarteh

Nnaa Samaa Makolou Project Assistant
Omar has experience in community engagement and community-led projects and will be supporting the project activities and liaising with the Sankandi community, ACES, and other partners.
